On the Spot in the Azores: A Gathering That Moves the Tide

From 25 to 26 September 2025, the CoastalPro consortium met in Angra do Heroísmo for two intense and inspiring days — and the experience exceeded expectations.

🔹 Day 1 was our internal engine room:
We reviewed progress against our milestones, exchanged insights from our Academy and training cohorts, and aligned on the next steps — from partnerships and dissemination to policy feedback for DG MARE.

🔹 Day 2

Due to preventive safety measures in relation to Hurricane Gabrielle, the planned Innovate Coastal Tourism Hackathon had to be postponed. The Hackathon will be rescheduled, ensuring that creativity and collaboration continue in safe conditions.

What made this meeting special wasn’t just the agenda — it was the energy, the ideas, and the shared commitment to resilience. We saw how knowledge, local voices, and policy can truly connect to shape stronger coastal futures.

Thank you to all partners, speakers and participants for making this gathering so impactful. The journey continues — and so does our mission. 🌊
