European Maritime Day 2026 — “the place where ocean leaders meet” — took place in Limassol, Cyprus, on 21–22 May 2026, organised by the European Commission (DG MARE) with the Shipping Deputy Ministry of the Republic of Cyprus and the Limassol Municipality. CoastalPro was present across the two days with a full programme of activities.
CINEA and DG MARE offered CoastalPro a half-day slot at the European Stand. As a Commission-managed stand it gave the project high visibility, with CoastalPro communicated through CINEA and DG MARE channels in the run-up to the event.
In line with the stand’s call for tangible engagement and the Commission’s paperless policy, we prepared three elements: live play of the CoastalPro serious game, so visitors could experience gamified learning for coastal tourism entrepreneurship first hand; the project video and presentation looping on the stand screen; and a QR-code one-pager linking to the website, the ACADEMY and our key results, with printed copies kept to a minimum for consultation only.

Alongside the stand, CoastalPro co-organised a dedicated workshop with the Next BlueGeneration project, combining results presentations, a demonstration of our game-based learning tools and an interactive exchange with participants on transferability and scaling. The full programme, speakers and materials are hosted on the workshop microsite at emd2026.surfclubkeros.eu.
Together with the educator-facing Classroom Experience Design Lab and our panel contribution to the CINEA corporate workshop, EMD 2026 turned the project’s final year of dissemination into direct contact with policymakers, practitioners, educators and the wider blue-economy community.
